Yacht Safety Advice:

We are a small team of yachting professionals who offer advice and supply safety equipment for all types of yachts and motor vessels Worldwide.  Our headquarters in Guernsey has the additional advantage of being outside the EU for VAT purposes.  We can advise on a complete safety equipment package, audit and upgrade the equipment on an existing boat, or monitor and manage your equipment to ensure that it is always up to date and you are fulfilling your legal obligations.

This website forms the backbone of our operation where we introduce the client to the concepts behind any safety plan for their boating, where they plan how to help themselves (self assistance) and how they would summon help from outside (the safety network/GMDSS and outside assistance).

The concept of self assistance relies on using the equipment that you have on board rather than leaving it in a locker and relies on understanding how to use it properly.  This can only be achieved by practice with similar equipment and familiarity with the operation and the techniques. As part of our sales process we offer an installation, training and demonstration service on board you own vessel using similar equipment.  This provides practice in deployment of equipment and recovery of MOB crew.

Yacht Safety Consultancy:

This is the service we provide to review the safety equipment that you have on board, or are thinking of buying for your boat and advising on what we believe is an appropriate choice of equipment for your boat and intended usage.

We will also advise of the regulatory requirements for your boat and activity. For example there are certain mandatory requirements for all vessels over 42 feet in the UK. There are also equipment requirements for racing yachts taking part in certain types of races and if the vessel is used in a commercial environment a whole raft of additional requirements must be met.

We will help you meet these requirements as well as advise on other equipment that should be carried to ensure the safety of you, your family and crew or guests.

Yacht Safety Management:

This section of the business handles the ongoing maintenance of the equipment. We log all the equipment that we supply and its serial numbers and expiration dates. Our automated system then sends you an email when equipment is coming due for renewal or service. This email can be sent to the owner, captain or other responsible individual to arrange the service.

Once the equipment is renewed or service is done (and we can often advise on the best people to do it based on your location) we log the updated details on our system and advice you when it’s next due to be serviced. There is a small setup and annual charge for this service.
